Born in Detroit, Michigan, a self-taught fashion designer who has always been inspired by avant garde, sculptural and architectural fashion and the likes of music industry icons David Bowie, Prince, the 60's mod and 80's new wave movement. Artists Patrick Nigel, Andy Warhol and her love for Sci-Fi motion pictures such as Star Wars, Tron, Blade Runner and 2001 Space Odyssey. These influences have played a role in her design aesthetics. She has always had a sense of fashion and a passion for clothing since the age of four. In many ways her mother played an important role in her fashion influence, by purchasing vintage clothes, shoes and costume jewelry to play dress up. Then at age eleven, she began hand sewing and started altering jeans for some students at her elementary school. Years later Delicia and her mother discovered an alternative vintage boutique which would become a favorite place to find amazing garments to deconstruct and then recreate the designs she saw on the runways and in the fashion magazines. This was her education into the shapes and components that make up a garment, which resembled some of her favorite designers, Thierry Mugler and Claude Montana. At age nineteen she purchased her first sewing machine and taught herself how to sew. Pattern making and drafting began as she was designing her own clothes. At the age of twenty-five Delicia moved to New York City, a place she dreamed of living since the age of nine. She started hitting the New York club scene where she began getting noticed by the costumes she would create to wear. It was there that she was approached by a club goer to create something that they could buy. This is when she knew she could create one of a kind designs for clients. With her pattern making and drafting skills she began working at all the major clubs and built a reputation for her individual style. She was commissioned by those clubs to create costumes for their performers challenging her design abilities and creating amazing costumes which have been featured in films, magazines and fashion shows. Since then she has been a custom designer and stylist to entertainers, special clients, or anyone who wants to
